Over the past weekend I was able to drive to Kansas City and sit with the Dzogchen teachings by Lama Lena Feral. This was my fourth or fifth teaching from this source.
Lama Lena has openness and a big heart that shines through her whole being. I love just being with her.
This time I had the audacity to tell her that I want to be her in my next life. I like to say ridiculous things. That is the comedian in me. Perhaps what I meant was I want to be able to teach and help others like she does. And, it is a delight to be with her. Wouldn’t you like to be delightful?
She has a way of making the Flight of the Garuda understandable. I would like to have that skill and understanding.
The teacher can motivate you like nothing else. Her example may inspire us beyond our fears. Beyond our complacency.
The message was to “let go”. She called to my heart.
We have been sitting at the amphitheater in Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center for over a year now on Sundays, weather permitting. Sunday on Earth
It has been a peaceful and healing experience all together. Seeing and sitting in the seasons in a natural setting has been slowly healing. I really did not notice till now.
The amphitheater sits in a circle of older oaks. A natural sacred grove already. There is a short circle path that we do walking meditation. We sit on benches and look straight ahead at hills of trees in all stages of dress and undress. Birds scold us; and there is movement always. We actually hear the sound of the trees moving, branch rubbing on trunk.
This Sunday we will be reciting the Tara practice outdoors for the first time. All are welcome to sit with us.
We have to park at the closed gate and walk in, as the center is closed at 10AM.
I hope you can join us soon for a truly healing experience.
It feels so good to be back to an almost daily practice. And what fuels this success for me, is the possibility that someone may show up to sit in meditation with me any day of the week. It really works for me. It is so easy to sit in meditation if at least 1-2 [...]
We are trying something different. Needed to update this site myself, so trying wordpress. These past five years have passed and the memories are gone. We were blessed in 2006 with the visit of several lamas. Since then the monks tour from Gaden Shartse visited twice. Bhante Sathi of Triple Gem of the North in [...]
